World Premiere of Of Good Stock Underwritten by Pam & Jim Muzzy and Jane & Richard P. Taylor
COSTA MESA, CA, April 3, 2015. South Coast Repertory Board President Sophie Cripe welcomed First Nights subscribers to Of Good Stock, a world premiere by Melissa Ross, directed by Gaye Taylor Upchurch and underwritten by Pam & Jim Muzzy and Jane & Richard P. Taylor.
After acknowledging Founding Artistic Directors David Emmes and Martin Benson, she introduced Artistic Director Marc Masterson and Managing Director Paula Tomei.
Masterson talked about the excitement generated by Ross’s play, which was commissioned by SCR while she was still attending Juilliard and given a staged reading in last season’s Pacific Playwrights Festival. “It’s always thrilling to award a commission to a young playwright and have the result be a work that so beautifully mines the nuances and complexities of family, represented here by three very smart—and very funny—sisters.”
Cripe acknowledged the underwriters, noting their support through the years. Pam Muzzy serves on the Board of Trustees, and she and Jim have underwritten eight productions.
